Need to know more? - Getting help
When you’ve tried to come to grips with a situation on your own
and still aren't happy, you may need help. Don’t put it off.
And if the first person you talk to can't relate to what you are
talking about, try someone else. Keep trying until you find someone
you can really talk to.
Here are some options:
- Parents
- Relatives
- Friends
- Friends parents or relatives
- An adult that one of your friends confides in
- A teacher
- A youth worker
- A guidance counsellor
- Family doctor
- A hotline or crisis centre
You owe it to yourself
You are one-of-a-kind. If you don’t believe that, just think: No
one has had the same experiences, the same outlook on life, and the
same ideas as you. You know things that nobody else will ever know until
you tell them. What you say will make a difference to dozens of
people in a lifetime.
So take good care of this special person – you. Treat yourself
well. Push to achieve dreams. You owe it to yourself.
